What was your first job?

My first job was right here in the family business. I started going out as an assistant on service calls, which helped me understand how air conditioning units work and also helped me understand the fundamentals of the business. It also gave me hands-on experience in catering to the unique needs of customers.

When did you start working in the family business?

I started in the family business right out of high school. I know how fortunate I am to be able to have the opportunity to work closely with family and watch the company continue to grow over the years. Together, my family members and I have built this company from the ground up.

How have those jobs prepared you for what you do now?

Starting at entry level as a service team member, I grew to understand the challenges and rewards of the business right away. Some entrepreneurs never see the entry level of their companies firsthand, but I believe they can’t fully understand their own business until they can do every job they request of their employees.

Describe the best day of work you’ve ever had.

Our 45th anniversary was a day of great pride for me and my family. Knowing that our company is built on solid principles of customer service, quality work, and community service, gives me a sense of pride. I am proud of all my employees, from sales to service and installation.

How do you keep yourself motivated?

My family provides a lot of my motivation. Taking care of them and making sure they will have a successful start in life means a lot to me. At the same time, I am genuinely driven by making my customers’ lives as easy as possible. They shouldn’t have to spend a lot of time thinking about their air conditioning service. It should be there for them every time they turn the thermostat down.

What kind of business ideas excite you most?

I believe that my business is based on time-honored principles of service, but I am also excited by new technology and business automation. I am always excited whenever an improved model is released with higher efficiency, or new features such as smart thermostats. These learn families’ cooling preferences and help to promote efficiency and savings.

All in all, I want to have products and services that help my customers feel cool and comfortable in their homes 24/7!

Have you ever tried any unorthodox techniques to attract attention to your business?

Some of my competitors may think that All Year Cooling’s Cool Cash Rewards Club as a unique business technique, but our company has embraced and thrived from the Referral Program since it’s premise. By offering a $100 gift card for every referral and participating in monthly raffles and giveaways, we’ve created a way to show our loyal customers we appreciate their business and continue to grow at the same time. My social media team also really enjoys interacting with our customers. We’re able to run fun giveaways for our followers as well as letting people see what goes on behind the scenes.
