My name is Jody Rookstool, and there are few things I enjoy more than crafting and DIY projects. Ever since I was very young I have been intrigued by those who are able to create things by hand, and I was very surprised to learn that this was a skill that could be developed rather than a talent you had to be born with. I have found that helpfulness is a common characteristic among those who enjoy crafting, so I decided that it was time for me to give back to the community that has helped me so much by creating this website, where I hope to share all of the tips and techniques I have picked up over the years.

- What was your best/favorite subject in school? My favorite subject in school was always math. I enjoyed there was always a definite answer that was governed by math rules.
- What was your first job? My first job was working retail in a department store. I loved customer service.
- Where and how did you first get into the industry you currently work in? I got into my current industry just through other people who also were in it. I met them in the store while I was working.
- How have those jobs prepared you for what you do now? The jobs in the past have helped me learn people skills and how to deal with and relate to all sorts of people because everyone is different. If you can have skill with people, you can go anywhere you want in your career.
- Describe the best day of work you’ve ever had. My best day at work was when it snowed so much one day. We all got out early because it was becoming increasingly dangerous to be on the road as the snow fell.
- How do you keep yourself motivated? It’s not easy to stay motivated. It takes a lot of will power and mental toughness. You have to do what you don’t want to do when you don’t want to do it.
- What kind of business ideas excite you most? My favorite business ideas are the ones that involve everyone and everyone wins!
- Have you ever tried any unorthodox techniques to attract attention to your business? There was one time I did try something new and it didn’t go well. I learned not to do it again!
- What personal achievement are you most proud of? I’m proud that I have finally written and released my very own book to Amazon!
- What wisdom would you have liked to share with yourself when you first started out? Do not be afraid of new things and new failure. Spend money on experience rather than things.
