1. What was your best/favorite subject in school?
I have always enjoyed World History classes. Although stories vary depending on factors like environment, cultural believes and economic status, they all have an underlying commonality – human life, and to me, it’s fascinating to learn about our human experiences.
2. What was your first job?
My first job was at an Italian buffet in Doral, FL. I was 15-years-young and can still hear the music that was playing on the surround system at the restaurant. It was Celia Cruz’s Rie y Llora.
3. Where and how did you first get into the industry you currently work in?
After working a few years in an integrated public relations and marketing agency in South Florida, I was ready to move to Gainesville and purchase my home there. That also meant finding a new job. I did. At Trimark, I enjoy helping UF students look for apartments in Gainesville FL near Sorority Row. Trimark has been a second home that I enjoy being a part of very much.
4. How have those jobs prepared you for what you do now?
Every previous job that anyone has adds experience, but only when you go into a new place and get experience there will you be prepared for what you do at the moment.
5. Describe the best day of work you’ve ever had.
There are so many! I really enjoy what I do and see every day as an opportunity to make it the best day ever. The best day ever – either at work or elsewhere – starts with ourselves and our intention to make it so.
6. How do you keep yourself motivated?
My family.
7. What kind of business ideas excite you most?
Finding effective and creative ways to produce and edit video to reach a marketing goal is so fun for me because of my production background.
8. Have you ever tried any unorthodox techniques to attract attention to your business?
Marketing is target audience based, so depending on your target, marketing will be tackled differently.
9. What personal achievement are you most proud of?
I see staying positive even after a long hard day as an achievement. We must. Because there is another day tomorrow that will require our focus. It’s hard to focus when you are unsettled from a previous challenge.
10. What wisdom you would have liked to share with yourself when you first started out?
You can learn as you go. You don’t have to know it all. Just step out of your comfort zone and be willing to walk the journey without a roadmap – you will make it through. Everyone does.
